The Client

The Heart and Stroke Foundation, a volunteer-based health charity, leads in eliminating heart disease and stroke and reducing their impact through the advancement of research and its application, the promotion of healthy living and advocacy. Throughout its history, the Foundation has relied on the generous donations of millions of Canadians. The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario (HSFO) is a member of a federation of ten independent provincial Foundations and one National body.

The Envision IT Solution

When HSFO decided to update their current 8 year old intranet, the most common challenges were that the site was difficult to navigate and find information, and that it was not easy to update, hence content was often out of date. Envision IT created a new intranet built on MOSS that addressed these challenges and leveraged existing hardware and software.  The new site, Tickr, is a true collaboration portal that allows information sharing among employees across all area offices.  A robust search, better navigation and SharePoint web parts make it easier for users to find web pages, documents, and people.   Standard features of SharePoint have enabled the creation of a robust and attractive site.
