The Envision IT Solution

Cadillac Fairview had over 50 production websites operating on different web content management (WCM) platforms, hosted by various 3rd party organizations. In order to simplify the external website environment, improve WCM functionality & security, leverage internal expertise & knowledge and substantially reduce operating costs, Cadillac Fairview engaged Envision IT to deploy Microsoft Office SharePoint Server  (MOSS) 2007 as the new standard WCM platform, create a standard website template and host the solution internally. Extranet User Manager

With the rollout of the retail website project for Cadillac Fairview, the goal was to engage the thousands of retailers across Canada that are tenants in CF retail properties.  With new SharePoint web sites for each property (such as www.torontoeatoncentre.com and www.carrefourlaval.ca), there was an opportunity to allow the retailers to post their own content.   Envision IT created a separate .Net application called the Retail Promo Tool.

This application leverage’s Envision IT’s Extranet User Manager.  Not knowing the staff details at all the tenants, a fully bilingual self-registration process was provided.  Retailers request accounts, manage and retrieve lost passwords and view account information. Once registered and approved,  they post content for store promotions and job postings, all going through a CF approvals process managed by SharePoint.  The Retail Promo Tool is integrated into the existing web sites, so that a single seamless experience is provided for all retailers.
