New Orleans, July 13, 2009 - At the Worldwide Partner Conference Microsoft Corp. announced that Microsoft Office 2010, Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Microsoft Visio 2010, and Microsoft Project 2010 have reached the technical preview engineering milestone. A Technical Readiness Launch Event was held simultaneously in Toronto, and key Envision IT personnel were featured at both events.
In Toronto at the Technical Readiness Launch, Envision IT addressed partners and the media on some of the changes to be expected with the new applications.
In New Orleans at the Worldwide Partner Conference, Peter Mackenzie, VP Sales & Marketing at Envision IT spoke about the organization's plans for bringing customers quickly up to speed with the benefits of Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010.
“One of the key drivers for Office 2010 has been the rumour that the launch of Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010 would enhance the business intelligence functionality in the same licensing model. Now there's going to be added functionality for one price, giving customers massive savings. That alone was enough for most clients to sign onto Office 2010,” Mackenzie said. He added that SharePoint 2007 is driving a lot of the momentum for Office 2010 well before launch. “SharePoint is really good now and there's a huge install base already."
As Envision IT has been selected by Microsoft to be part of the beta testing for Office 2010, customers will benefit immensely from our experience. “We're getting a jump-start on Office 2010 with the Technical Preview," said Mackenzie.
