Toronto, December 1, 2009 - With the second most clients accepted in Canada, Envision IT is one of a handful of partners across Canada to be selected for the
Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Rapid Deployment Program (RDP). The RDP
is an opportunity for a select set of customers and partners to start their development and deployment of 2010-based solutions with Microsoft’s support now, in advance of release-to-market. It is designed
to generate customer evidence by soliciting partner/customer pairings for those who are looking to build solutions based on the 2010 release. The program provides an opportunity for Microsoft to capture customer stories, learning’s and research from these pioneer solutions that will be used to support Microsoft’s launch efforts.
This is a win-win situation for all concerned. Our clients gain a competitive advantage as they are among the first to experience the best that the new technology has to offer. They engage in launch PR activities, receive additional support during the program, and have access to Microsoft funds to offset development costs related to the program. Partners like Envision IT gain valuable experience developing on the new platform while drawing from our vast experience with MOSS 2007. The program allows Microsoft to generate and gather a breadth of great customer evidence to support key scenarios within the 2010 release. Outstanding partners, customers and their pioneer solutions provide press and analyst momentum and help drive adoption of the technologies.
Among the solutions that Envision IT is developing for the Rapid Deployment Program is an Extranet Board of Directors’ Portal for The
Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario (HSFO). The Heart and Stroke Foundation, a volunteer-based health charity, leads in eliminating heart disease and stroke and reducing their impact through the advancement of research and its application, the promotion of healthy living and advocacy.
HSFO has experienced a huge growth in the amount of information generated for review, and increased communications among key stakeholders. Envision IT is creating a separate Collaboration Portal using SharePoint 2010 to enable secure user management without being a burden to IT. Benefits of the portal will include:
- Reduced paper usage and waste
- Faster document creation and dissemination of information
- Better source control of documents and security of information
- More timely communications among users so they are alerted when items are ready and when they are updated
- Access to information by users from any place and at any time
- Enhanced Search for relevant material
Envision IT is also developing a public website for
Samuel, Son & Co., Limited. Samuel is a family owned business, founded in Toronto in 1855.
