  • The Envision IT Extranet Module
    • Provides account management, password changes, and retrieval over the web
  • Envision IT Silverlight Image Management (SLIM)
    • Faster loading and effective searches for images that are easily shared among teams
  • Envision IT Photo Viewer
    • Provides a rich end-user experience for viewing photos on a SharePoint website

Creating a Link to Forms and Views

SharePoint lists always have a New button that allows users to create a new item in the list. When you click the New button, you fill in a form to create the item. To improve the user experience, you can create links to the forms and put these links in the navigation or perhaps in a web part. For example, if you have an issues list, you may want to have a link Create New Issue in the Navigation rather than having the user open the list and click the New button.

To create the link in the Navigation, all you need to do is know the URL of the form:

  • Go to the list and click the New Button
  • Copy the URL from the address bar then click Cancel
  • Modify the navigation and add a new link called Create New issue
  • Paste the URL you copied into the URL field for the new navigation link

You can do the same thing with views. Go to the different views of your list and copy the URL and then paste it into links for the navigation to provide simple navigation for your users.
