Toronto, January 31, 2007 - Envision IT, a Microsoft Gold-Certified Partner, proudly announced today that it is now offering SharePoint workshops to its customers. Envision IT recently added a new member to its team to create and deliver a SharePoint training program. Joe Seguin, a Senior Consultant, comes to Envision IT with over ten years of training, project management, and IT experience.
“Joe’s experience as both an IT consultant and a trainer make him an ideal classroom facilitator. He has the technical knowledge, teaching skills, and business experience to provide SharePoint training that is relevant to the needs of the information worker” said Peter Carson, President, Envision IT.
The workshops will provide staff the skills to create, customize, and use collaborative SharePoint web sites where team members can share and find information. This will ensure that Envision IT’s clients are maximizing the investment that they have made in SharePoint technologies.
Envision IT is now offering a 1-day corporate course on Windows SharePoint Services Collaboration. The training is delivered as an interactive course giving students the required hands-on experience needed to effectively use SharePoint sites. Envision IT can also customize the training to a customer’s specific needs and plans on expanding its offerings with other advanced training modules.
“The true measure of success of any new technology that an organization decides to implement is user adoption” says Seguin. “Simply installing the hardware and software is not enough. You need to show people how to use it effectively, and show them the benefits. It’s important that we not only teach the mechanics of how it works, but also teach the best practices and provide lots of examples of how SharePoint can help people manage their information, and increase their productivity through better collaboration.”
SharePoint represents a paradigm shift. It’s a new way of working for most people, and the old ways of managing files and information on local and network drives will eventually go away.
“When I show people what SharePoint can do, they get so excited! They immediately see the benefits of SharePoint and how it’s going to help them” said Seguin.
