Clubhouse Intranet Case Study

Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada (BGCC) has a team of national office employees who communicate regularly on a wide range of projects and campaigns. BGCC envisioned a need for an intranet as a socially interactive and efficient online tool for staff to collaborate and seamlessly share documents. Envision IT tapped into the core services offered in Microsoft SharePoint to build an intranet known as “Clubhouse” – a functional yet informal solution that fosters participation and information sharing for all BGCC employees.

Envision IT Wins 2010 Microsoft IMPACT Award

Envision IT was selected as the winner in the Community Leadership Awards Category at the 2010 Microsoft IMPACT Awards. The award recognizes exceptional technology partners that have made a sustained commitment to society and their communities. Envision IT gives back to the community through a number of initiatives, foremost being our selection of an annual focus charity. In 2010 Envision IT supported the Princess Margaret Ride to Conquer Cancer, with President Peter Carson and VP Sales & Marketing Peter Mackenzie entering the event and spearheading fundraising activities. To acknowledge Envision IT’s achievements, Microsoft Canada has donated $5,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada.

Envision IT and Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada win Iron SharePoint

Envision IT competed recently in the SharePoint Summit 2011 conference, taking home top honours for its work in building a dynamic and customized Intranet website for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada. Winning the coveted “Iron SharePoint” competition, Envision IT successfully built an innovative SharePoint solution over an intense two-day period. The Iron SharePoint challenge is a take-off of the hit television series Iron Chef. A panel of expert judges reviewed the competition and declared Envision IT’s solution the winner. As Iron SharePoint Winners, Envision IT received $5,000 courtesy of SharePoint Summit, which it donated to Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada Launches New SharePoint 2010 Public Website

Envision IT is excited to announce the launch of the newly redesigned Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada (BGCC) Website with Members Portal. BGCC expects that the new website will encourage partners and donors to get involved and to inspire young people to volunteer and make a difference in their community and in the lives of young people. The new bilingual site, at www.bgccan.com, was developed as a SharePoint 2010 publishing and collaboration site. Envision IT designed various custom web parts with online forms for donations, newsletters and alumni signup that are fully integrated with the organization’s CRM database and third-party billing system. The addition of the Envision It Extranet User Manager extends SharePoint functionality by providing BGCC with the necessary tools to create accounts for members, staff and volunteers.
