Envision IT Wins Community Leadership Award
Envision IT is excited to announce that we have been selected as the winner in the Community Leadership Award Category at the
2010 Microsoft IMPACT Awards. The eighth annual IMPACT awards recognize excellence across the large and diverse community of Microsoft’s Canadian technology partners. The winners were announced at an award ceremony in Toronto on November 9, 2010.
“Our annual IMPACT Awards celebrate the infinite possibilities innovative technology partners bring to customers on a regular basis,” said Corinne Sharp, National Director, Canadian Partner Network, Microsoft Canada Inc. “Technology partners like Envision IT are always finding new and exciting ways to raise the bar, making them true leaders in their respective fields.”
The Community Leadership Award recognizes exceptional technology partners that have made a sustained commitment to society and their communities and can demonstrate the impact of their work. Microsoft looks for specific examples where technology partners have utilized Microsoft-based technologies and incredible innovation to address a key societal issue in Canada.
Envision IT gives back to the community through a number of initiatives, first and foremost being our selection of an annual focus charity. In 2010 we supported the Princess Margaret Ride to Conquer Cancer, with our President, Peter Carson, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Peter Mackenzie, entering the event and spearheading fundraising activities. In addition, Envision IT is proud to work with numerous non-profit organizations such as: Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada, Community Living Toronto, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, UNICEF Canada, CAMH, Central Community Support Services Network, The Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion, College of Early Childhood Educators, The Hospital for Sick Children, and the Toronto Children’s Aid Society. Through technology we enable these organizations to be more efficient and visible, both within their own organizations, and externally to the community in general.
To acknowledge Envision IT’s achievements, Microsoft Canada has donated $5,000 to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada on our behalf. Microsoft Canada has a standing multi-year commitment to the Clubs to create technology-based learning centres across the country. Young Canadians receive computer training, online safety mentoring, technical guidance, and, most importantly, the chance to express themselves with new and exciting technologies. The Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada create powerful opportunities for their members.
Speaking on behalf of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada, Susan Bower, Vice-President of Business Operations said, “I would like to extend my congratulations to the entire Envision IT team in receiving a Microsoft Community Leadership Award. Your work with the Princess Margaret Ride to Conquer Cancer this past year was inspiring. Furthermore, the continuing technological insight Envision IT’s team brings to your charitable and not-for-profit clients – including Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada – is a demonstration of your investment in the community.”
Accepting the award, Peter Carson, President of Envision IT expressed our gratitude to Microsoft Canada for their ongoing support. Peter Mackenzie, Vice President of Sales and Marketing added, "We would specifically like to thank our Partner Account Manager, Nancy Teodoro, and Marketing Manager, Carol White, for their support of our partner initiatives. We would also like to thank Erik Moll, Information Worker Solution Specialist, for his long-standing support of Envision IT."
